Once upon a time, McDonald’s looked like McDonald’s, Taco Bell looked like Taco Bell, and White Castle looked like a place everyone but college kids wanted to avoid. But at some point, those chains started ditching their own styles in favor of a minimalist design that’s so samey, you can barely tell one place from the other.
